Bonnie Simonek and David Monks, two attorneys in the San Diego office of Klinedinst PC, were recently elected to be shareholders of the firm. Both were recognized by their peers for their leadership, client service, and dedication to the law firm.

SAN DIEGO, CA January 17, 2005 -- The shareholders of Klinedinst PC are pleased to announce that Bonnie M. Simonek and David B. Monks, both attorneys in the San Diego office, have become shareholders of the firm.

"Bonnie Simonek and David Monks have achieved great things in a short amount of time," noted John D. Klinedinst, CEO and Founder. "Through their dedication, legal ability and leadership, they have set themselves apart. They are incredible attorneys that have become important assets to our entire team. On behalf of the firm's shareholders, we welcome Bonnie and David as our newest shareholders."

Since joining the firm, Bonnie M. Simonek has focused much of her practice in the areas of medical negligence, elder abuse and healthcare. She has also been recognized for her work in the areas of construction litigation, business litigation, and general liability defense.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Ms. Simonek served her country before choosing a career in law. She joined the U.S. Navy at age 19, and spent 12 years as a Hull Maintenance Technician. During her final tour as a Navy Instructor at Naval Training Center's Fire Fighting and Chemical, Nuclear and Biological Warfare Defense School, Ms. Simonek became the first Naval Reservist on Active Duty to gain full qualification as an Instructor. She received an Honorable Discharge from Service in 1996, and went on to attend California Western School of Law. After graduating in 1999, she went on to pass the California Bar, and has been practicing law ever since.

David B. Monks, who joined Klinedinst in 2001, has also led a distinguished career. His practice is focused on employment law, both litigation and counseling. David has successfully litigated and resolved disputes involving claims of wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, defamation, breach of contract, and unpaid wages. As a member of the firm's Employment Law Department, he has presented training seminars on employment discrimination and harassment, and has counseled employers on matters such as employee discipline, misconduct investigations, revision of handbooks, and wage and hour issues. In addition, David writes articles on timely issues, and speaks to various groups on issues that are important to California employers.

Public entity defense comprises another significant part of David's practice. He has helped superintendents, human resource managers and risk managers of school districts in resolving a wide variety of employment, civil rights and general liability matters. Relying on his knowledge of the many laws that affect government entities, David has worked successfully to resolve claims fairly and efficiently.

Though born in San Diego, David grew up in New Jersey. He received his B.A. in 1986 at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. After finally returning to San Diego, he worked in the insurance industry for several years before earning his law degree at the University of Maryland School of Law in 1992. Before beginning law practice in California, David served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Glenn T. Harrell, Jr., on the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. David, who is proficient in Spanish, has received Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards. He enjoys spending time with his family and coaching youth basketball and baseball.

With the addition of Bonnie and David, Klinedinst San Diego now has fifteen shareholders overseeing a growing office with 32 attorneys. To learn more about the shareholders of the firm, please visit: www.klinedinstlaw.com/about/shareholders/
